September 2025 starters
Welcome to the Newchurch Family
At Newchurch we believe that having a smooth transition into school plays a vital role in your child’s education and well-being. If your child feels happy and secure, they will learn and flourish in their new environment.
September 2026 New Starter Meeting
We will be holding our New Starter meeting on Monday 8th June at 6:30pm. This will be in the reception classroom and parents are welcome to attend the meeting to gain valuable information about the transition of your child into Newchurch.
Visits to School
The children will be organised into four consistent groups which will attend school for some taster sessions prior to September. You will be informed shortly of the group your child is in.
The first of the visits will take place on either Tuesday 23rd June or Wednesday 24th June when you will be able to attend with your child. The organisation will be as follows:
Group 1 Tuesday 23rd June 9:30am - 10:30am
Group 2 Tuesday 23rd June 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Group 3 Wednesday 24th June 9:30am - 10:30am
Group 4 Wednesday 24th June 1:30pm - 2:30pm
The second visit is for your child on their own. They will be on Wednesday 1st July as this is the day when all our children move up to their new classes for the day. The organisation will be as follows:
Group 1 and Group 2 9:30am - 11:30am
Group 3 and Group 4 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Starting School in September
Prior to your child starting school, you will have the opportunity to have a one-to-one parental conference with Mrs Sizer (class teacher) and Mrs Dixon (teaching assistant). These will be held on either Wednesday 15th July or Thursday 16th July. You will be able to book the date and time when you attend the New Starter Meeting on the 8th of June.
To further aid transition, there is then a staggered start to the groups starting school. Once the children start school, they are in full time. The start dates are as follows:
Group 1 Wednesday 2nd September 2026
Group 2 Thursday 3rd September 2026
Group 3 Friday 4th September 2026
Group 4 Monday 7th September 2026
This is an exciting time for you and your child but it can also be a period of apprehension. Please be assured that we are here to support you in any way we can - you are part of the family now.
