‘Preparing to Fly’

Mission Statment

Newchurch will give every child a flying start by working in partnership with parents, staff and the community to develop well-rounded citizens who will contribute in a positive way to society.

Newchurch Community Primary School is an inclusive school which strives to provide a nurturing, safe, happy and consistent learning environment for all our Newchurch robins in order to prepare them to fly. In October 2024, Ofsted judged the Personal Development of pupils at Newchurch as outstanding.

The children and staff at Newchurch strive to:

  •         Be a good listener
  •         Make good choices
  •         Always try our best

At Newchurch we are dedicated to providing our pupils with an ambitious, engaging, broad and balanced curriculum which celebrates and extends the children’s learning whilst also meeting the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum.  Our ‘chocolate box curriculum’ is a curriculum which ignites a passion for learning across all subjects of the National Curriculum and one which facilitates the children’s personal development and promotes lifelong learning – preparing them to fly.

Throughout their time at Newchurch, we aim to work in partnership with parents and carers to support the children in developing into positive, responsible and kind citizens, who are able to work and co-operate with others whilst developing the necessary knowledge and skills to help them achieve their true potential. We achieve this through our ‘R Curriculum’- our core values of: Resilience, Respect, Resourcefulness, Responsibility, Reciprocity and Reflectiveness.

Our Core Values - Our 'R' Curriculum

'Newchurch Community Primary School is a happy, friendly place. Pupils are proud to be ‘Newchurch Robins’. They are polite and considerate towards one another and staff. Pupils behave well in class and at breaktimes.'

'Pupils benefit from staff knowing them very well as individuals. Across the school, staff treat pupils with kindness and respect. Staff are willing to help pupils and to listen to any concerns that they may have. This helps pupils to feel happy and safe.'

'Pupils demonstrate the school’s values of resilience, respect, responsibility, resourcefulness, reciprocity and reflection. Pupils learn what these values mean and why they are important. Pupils mostly achieve well and are well ‘prepared to fly’ by the time they move on to the next stage of their education.'
